Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy (OT) helps children and adults to improve skills used in everyday life. The goal is to foster independence by increasing physical, cognitive, motor, and social skills. An occupational therapist provides these services. For children with autism, occupational therapy often focuses on self-care, play skills, environmental interaction, and learning strategies. Some occupational therapists also address feeding issues in sessions. Occupational therapy is covered by insurance.
